Our Building Campaign
"More Than Bricks And Mortar"
Phase I
In 2005, with the generous support of friends, supporters, charitable partners and designated funds committed by our Board of Directors, we were able to raise the funds necessary to complete Phase I of our renovations to our women's residence.
An anonymous $10,000 In Honour donation and a leadership gift from a long-standing volunteer and supporter were highlights of the 2005 residential campaign.
We were able to refurbish the women's bedrooms and washroom facilities, kitchen, and dining/lounge areas. Updated lighting and flooring, and a pleasing new colour scheme gave new life to the private and communal spaces that represent home for our clients.
Phase II
A generous bequest allows us to begin to update the rest of our building to meet the needs of expanding programs. A grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation will ensure that our reception and counselling spaces are open and accessible to women with mobility issues. The renovations will incorporate permanent handicap features at the entrance to our building, to our main floor offices, counselling rooms, and washroom.
Resources are required to make these necessary changes. Our Development Department will continue with its fundraising initiatives over the next year to raise the funds to complete these renovations and ensure that our clients receive the high level of service that our agency has always provided.
Donations directed to improvements help community-based solutions to poverty, abuse, and addictions, and contribute to a safer community.
